Kate Baune: This is not actually considered to be the same as 'bait and switch' as typos can occur in email quotations or newspaper ads, etc. There should be a disclaimer provided on their website or original email quote to cover such an issue.There is no contractual agreement here, as far as I can see. The company quoted a price and you accepted the quoted price but they didn't agree to provide the goods for the accepted price as they gave a follow-up notice that the price quoted was in error. Whew!An error is assumed when any reasonable person would know that the price was definitely not in line with what would normally be within the ballpark for such work/item (in other words, a ridiculously low price).In my opinion, the only way a contract was formed is if they accepted payment already. In that case, they must abide by the contracted amount.In either case, it seems they would work with you to give you a generous discount as you have invested time and interest in t! heir services and may require more work done in the future as well as being able to refer other customers....Show more
